• Post-schooling and TransitionsThe ongoing transformation of the post-school sector is a focal point of the Future of Education and Work theme, A focal point will be the ongoing transformation of the post-school sector, interrogating government programmes focusing on transitions, including internship programmes, and the wide array of transitions experienced by young people upon exiting schooling. Research related to this theme covers all higher education- related matters, including the development, process and outcomes of higher education; governance, quality, and funding; as well as special issues, for example, digitalisation, new institutions, community engagement and anchoring, curriculum transformation and decolonisation, student experience/student and affairs.
This subtheme will primarily cover issues of transition into livelihoods, processes of skilling and outcomes of skilling, and conditions in the world of work. Process and outcomes of all levels of education and concerning more significant issues that highlight the inequalities that can result from skilling (or lack thereof); skilling that does not have quality and equity at the centre of its considerations. This cluster also includes developing work on continuing professional, technical and vocational development in the post-schooling landscape, provided by public and private TVET colleges and technical high schools, focusing on high schools and schools of skills.
