The NCAS dataset is a nationwide household-based population survey of SARS-CoV-2 (also known as Coronavirus or COVID-19) seroprevalence among individuals aged 12 years and older in South Africa. Given the presence of asymptomatic cases, the seroprevalence survey provides valuable data about the status of COVID-19 infections in the country from November 2020 to June 2021, a period that includes Wave 2 and Wave 3 of the pandemic.
The survey was conducted prior to the widespread administration of vaccinations against the virus, which implies that the results indicate the level of community susceptibility during that period.
