The IAS 2024 conference will convene thousands of people living with, affected by and working on HIV to share knowledge, best practices and lessons learnt from the HIV response over the past 40 years, as well as from the responses to COVID-19, and other public health threats. AIDS 2024 in Munich, Germany, will provide a powerful platform to strategically align around a unified and equitable response to the pandemic.
It will signal to the world that the HIV response is united behind an evidence-based approach that puts people first. With South Africa’s burden of HIV so high (7,8 million people living with HIV in 2022), it is imperative that we share the information from our survey with the global HIV community.
The exhibition will provide an opportunity for HSRC to share information not just about PHSB projects but position the broader HSRC as a research organisation undertaking a broad range of research. In addition, HSRC press will be marketing and selling their publications at the exhibition as part of HSRC’s presence at the conference. The satellite session will bring together over 500 delegates to share the results of the survey.
It will have discussants including from National Government, funders and key stakeholders on the global stage. We will also be screening a documentary of 20 years of the SABSSM survey series.
