HSRC to exhibit the aftermath of #FeesMustFall project in Europe
Copenhagen, Monday, 6 November 2023 – As part of a series of exhibitions and launch events in different cities, the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) will be hosting another exhibition of the “Aftermath of #FeesMustFall photovoice project” and the launch of a book titled, “#FeesMustFall and its Aftermath: Violence, Wellbeing, and the Student Movement in South Africa” in Europe.
The event will be held at the Danish School of Education, Aarhus University, Copenhagen, Denmark from 7–16 November 2023.
The exhibition and book launch will be accompanied by a public seminar on conducting engaged policy research with student activists using the rapid photovoice methodology developed as part of the HSRC project.
Since 2021, The HSRC’s Prof. Thierry Luescher has been working with Prof. Gritt B. Nielsen, professor in educational anthropology and globalisation at Aarhus University, on projects related to translocal student movements. Prof. Luescher’s project work is funded by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
He and Dr Keamogetse Morwe (University of Venda) led the Photovoice research project on the wellbeing impacts of violence during #FeesMustFall with student activists and students from several South African universities.

About the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC)
