Charné Mungur, a 3rd-year Fine Arts student at Nelson Mandela University created an installation in response to the 2024 HSRC report on GBV in South Africa, and more specifically, sexual violence. The installation currently forms part of her 3rd year Bachelor of Visual Art, Fine Art Graduation Exhibition.

The installation, titled Echoes of Violence, was a response to the inaugural South African National Gender-Based Violence Study, which was published by the HSRC last year. This pivotal study provides insights into GBV prevalence, risk factors, and impacts across South Africa, forming a foundation for targeted solutions.
