The curated time series dataset is now available!

The R&D 2001/02 – 2020/21 time series dataset is a compilation of aggregated R&D survey datasets spanning from 2001 to 2020. These individual datasets have been merged to establish a coherent time series dataset to mitigate the challenge of repeatedly seeking historical data, which may be to a cumbersome and time-intensive process.

The dataset provides a 20-year reflection on measuring R&D capacity in South Africa.

This unified time series dataset would enable users to seamlessly incorporate the data into various statistical software for analytical purposes. Specific variables of interest could be selected and integrated into different time series datasets for inferential analysis. A panel analysis is theoretically possible if data from several survey years is used.
