Media pack: People Living with HIV (PLHIV) Stigma Index 2.0 Study

The 2024 PLHIV Stigma Index 2.0 is a groundbreaking, community-led study that captures the lived experiences of people living with HIV across South Africa.

Led by the People Living with HIV (PLHIV) Sector and coordinated by the National Association for People Living with HIV and AIDS (NAPWA), with technical support from the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) and the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC), this national study forms part of a global initiative to better understand PLHIV’s experiences and root causes of stigma and to identify solutions to end it.

Conducted in partnership with international stakeholders led by the Global Partnership of People Living with HIV, UNAIDS, and others, the study reinforces a united global commitment to eliminate stigma and discrimination everywhere.
