A senior Human Sciences Research Council researcher has called on the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) to intervene in food advertising following a report on unhealthy eating.
Professor Demetre Labadarios, executive director of population health systems and innovation at the HSRC, who presented a South African national health and nutrition survey on Tuesday, is pushing for a debate on banning certain advertising, including ads for fast foods.
