MICHAEL Morris needs no introduction to Weekend Argus readers. For the past three years, he’s written his way into the hearts of many. But those three years don’t tell the whole story.
Morris enjoys legendary status on our newsroom floor, rightfully earned from a career spanning 38 years with the Independent Media group.
And his story is every bit as interesting as any front-page special he produced in that time.
Morris was born and brought up in Kimberley. His career in journalism began at the Diamond Fields Advertiser in 1979. Four years later, he moved to Cape Town.
For three years in the mid-1980s, Morris served as foreign correspondent in London for the Argus Group newspapers.
