This week, government is set to launch a range of actions to create opportunities for the youth as the country gears up to celebrate Youth Day on Wednesday. In his weekly letter to the nation President Cyril Ramaphosa revealed that these measures aim to enhance skills development, support young entrepreneurs and allow for the participation of the youth in the country’s economy.

According to the Human Sciences Research Council 2019/2020 South African Social Attitudes Survey, almost 40% of Generation Z have not heard of the June 16 events, while almost the same number has heard about it but know very little detail of the events that took place.
