The Human Sciences Research Council has discovered that violence commonly takes place in schools, according to a research conducted in Khayelisha schools, in Cape Town.

The HSRC said, “violence is a common place and occurs mostly in classrooms, on sports fields, or in bathrooms.”

It was also discovered that violence in romantic relationships existed, with most being physical and verbal, where these young children slap or pull each others hair, and swear at each other.
