Pupils deprived of maths resources

Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC)

Ninety-five out of every 100 South African pupils do not have the resources at school needed to learn maths.

This emerged in a Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) study which examined the resources at school which influenced performance.

Schools which had physical assets and infrastructure, including libraries, laboratories and computers, achieved more positive educational outcomes compared to those that did not.
