Pupils at township schools have been getting better at maths over the past decade. This according to an international study that measures performance in the subject.
In all, 285 local schools participated in the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, which examined the performance of more than 600 000 Grade 8 pupils from 42 countries and the Grade 9 performance of three countries — South Africa, Botswana and Honduras.
