The “HKSWAN 10-Year W20 Report” is a 10-Year Impact Review Report associated with the Women20 (W20) initiative, a G20 engagement group celebrating its 10th anniversary. The W20 South Africa team compiled this report to reflect on a decade of work, highlighting achievements, and identifying gaps for future advocacy.

  • Purpose: The report is a comprehensive review of the W20’s first decade, intended to capture the impact of its advocacy on women’s economic empowerment and to inform future strategies.

The report was compiled in conjunction with the W20’s 10th anniversary, with South Africa leading the initiative under the G20 South Africa presidency. It was a collaborative effort, with contributions from various individuals and organisations. The Harvard Kennedy School Women’s Alumni Network (HWSWAN) provided expertise and guided the report.

Key Themes:

The 10-year review covers a range of issues that the W20 has worked on, including the integration of gender equality into the G20 Leaders’ Agenda, entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, the care economy, gender-based violence, climate justice, education, and health equity.

Availability:

The report is a significant output of the W20’s 10th anniversary, and it was launched yesterday at the W20 Summit in Johannesburg.
