The HSRC’s Professor Monde Makiwane will be participating at the UN’s International Day of Families on 15 May 2018.

He will be speaking specifically on a topic titled “Families and inclusive societies in Africa”. The discussion will be webcast live from the site http://webtv.un.org/ on 15 May 2018 at 1:15-2.30 New York time (18:15 hours-19:30 hours South African time).

The official observance Families and Inclusive Societies will take place 15 May 2018 at 1:15–2:30 at UNHQ in New York in conference room 6.

The event Fostering Family-Friendly Cities, organised by the NY NGO Committee on the Family will be held 15 May, 3-4:30 at the Church Centre.
SDGs and Families. Results of the Global Research Project event organised by IFFD in cooperation with SOS Children’s Villages, UNICEF & DSPD/DESA will be held on 16 May, 1:15-2:30 in Confrence room 6 at UNHQ.

The events held at the UN will be webcast live and archived on the UN website http://webtv.un.org/.
