Launch of Best Red’s latest book, “A Taste of Bitter Almonds” by Michael Schmidt

07 April 2016
18:30 - 00:00

HSRC Press invites you to join them at the launch of Best Red’s latest book, “A Taste of Bitter Almond” by Michael Schmidt tonight at 18h30 pm at The Roving Bantu Kitchen in Brixton, Johannesburg. (C/o Caroline Street and Esther street Brixton)

Michael is also the author of ‘Drinking with Ghosts.’ The main discussant of the book is former ANC exile, Mr. Sifiso Ntuli.

Best Red is an imprint of HSRC Press.

“The book is about tales of SA’s troubled transition since 1994, in which I focus on those excluded from the benefits of democracy – who are the great majority,” says Michael.

Copies of the book will be on sale for signature – as will copies of my three previous books: Black Flame (on anarchist theory and strategy), Cartography of Revolutionary Anarchism (a global movement history), and Drinking with Ghosts (on the aftermath of apartheid in Southern Africa).”

Entrance is free and there will be refreshments to buy. Secure street parking will be provided.
