Amanda Diphoko-Phetla is a Masters research trainee at the Human Sciences Research Council's Equitable Education and Economies Unit. She obtained her BA undergraduate degree from WITS, majoring in both Psychology and Sociology. She also holds an honors degree in Sociology from UNISA and is currently pursuing her masters in Sociology with UNISA. Her research focuses on the Sociology of the family, particularly fatherhood studies. "Understanding Paternity Leave Utilization Among Black African Fathers in Gauteng, South Africa: An Exploratory Study".
