The study was conducted among South Africans who voted in the 2024 Elections. The target population was registered voters aged 18 years and older. Overall, based on the research teamâs interviews with voters on Election Day, the voting public was overwhelmingly confident that the 2024 Local Government Elections were free and fair, and were strongly positive about the Electoral Commissionâs management of the elections and about the conduct of officials at voting stations. Based on this analysis, the research study concludes that the 2024 National and Government Elections were free and fair and that the Commission performed exceedingly well in the implementation and management of the election process.
