Young female bodies and Intimate Partner Violence Presenters: Dr Jacqueline Mthembu Dr Musa Mabaso Chair: Prof Finn Reygan Young peoples’ acceptance and rejection of certain key behaviours are influenced by socially constructed gendered norms that underpins gender inequity and unequal interpersonal power dynamics (Mathur et al., 2018).

As such, exploring intimate relationships may be fraught with increased vulnerability, especially for AGYW. At the backdrop of the 16 Days of Activism for no violence against women and children (25 November – 10 December), this seminar aims to draw particular attention to violence experienced by adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) perpetrated by their intimate partners.
