The Routes of the Thoughts and The Thoughts of the Routes, would Agenda 2063 restore humanity to Africa and its peoples?
The consolidation of Agenda 2063 by the Africa Union is an effort to restore to the Continent the values which should underpin the developmental trajectories in the African societies. It is both a vision and action plan that is being consolidated by many Africans and the Diaspora. The Agenda encapsulates various facets of a stable and developmental society ranging from peace and security, sustainable development and science and technology. These facets are a prerequisite to any society that seeks to prosper in the 21st Century.
However, these requirements shall not be achieved until such time as “the Routes of the Thoughts and the Thoughts of the Routes” are properly established to restore humanity to the peoples of the continent. The seminar draws inspiration from the article of Dr Mongane Wally Serote, “The Routes of the Thoughts and The Thoughts of the Routes”, published in The Thinker, Quarter 3-2015. This platform affords Academics and everybody interested the opportunity to examine and think deeply about ways in which the humanity can be restored to the peoples of Africa through a critical analysis of AU Agenda 2063.
The seminar may be attended in Pretoria, Cape Town or Durban
