The DA’s offer: Clean Governance and jobs

2014 ELECTION MANIFESTO SEMINARS

Speakers: Wilmot James, DA Federal Chairperson
Date:
Thursday, 24 April
Time:
13:00 – 14:00
Venue: VCRs, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban

Twenty years after South Africa’s political liberation, South Africa is undoubtedly a better place than it was under apartheid. We should recognise the important progress towards social justice that has been made as the government focussed its attention on delivering basic services and houses and providing a safety net for vulnerable citizens through social grants.

But there is a great deal that remains to be done.

Under the Presidency of Jacob Zuma, South Africa has increasingly become a country of insiders and outsiders, with opportunities often going to those with political connections, rather than to ordinary South Africans who want to build better lives for themselves and their children.

The DA’s election manifesto shows that the party is a dynamic force for change in South Africa. We have clear plans to fight corruption and research shows that our economic policy set could increase economic growth to 8% and halve unemployment by 2025.

Every effort of government should be focussed on building a more inclusive society and government resources should be used in service of the people, not to line the pockets of politicians.

That is what a DA government can deliver to South Africans.

The seminar may be attended in Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban
