Skills for Work and Life: Towards a Transformative Approach

05 November 2013

Presenter: Professor Simon McGrath, Director: Integrating Global Societies Priority Area, University of Nottingham
Date: 5 November 2013
Time: 12:15 for 12:30 – 14:00

Vocational education and training (VET) internationally must stress economic and equity priorities. However, the UNESCO World Report, co-authored by Simon McGrath, argues that the biggest challenges and opportunities lie in thinking transformatively about skills and work. Professor McGrath argues that what we urgently need is both a better theory of VET for human development and an improved practice of how to achieve this.
