This presentation focuses and reflects on the ways in which women’s activism, in the face of violence, public humiliation and torture, has paved the ways for the realisation of access to rights and justice in the courts, the streets and the domestic sphere. The presentation, based on personal encounters with three very brave women in the Eastern Cape, Gauteng and Western Cape, considers what is at stake when we explode the view on women’s resilience.
