Capacity Development Workshop

You are cordially invited to attend this workshop on Research Ethics organised by Capacity Development at PACE (Policy Analysis and Capacity Enhancement unit)

Although the ethics of social science research has not enjoyed as much scholarly attention as the ethics of biomedical research, social scientists continue to debate the relevance of research ethics and ethics review to social science research.

This workshop introduces the development and importance of ethics and ethics review in social science research and explores the key ethical guidelines and principles in social science research.

Nicole Mamotte is the project manager for the African AIDS Vaccine Programmes, Ethics, Law and Human Rights group. She is an external member of the HSRC research ethics committee and lectures on ethics in social science research at the University of KwaZulu Natal.
