This seminar reports on the literature review conducted for the project titled ‘Developing Research Impact Guidelines for the HSRC’. The work outlines the importance of defining both the scope and purpose prior to conducting a research impact assessment. The main discussion will center around the multitude of challenges in assessing research impact, as well as the various research impact assessment frameworks and data collection methods. It concludes by proposing the possible ways forward.
