The Human and Social Development Unit in commemoration of the UN International Year of family seminar: Life trajectories of children with no connection and support from their fathers have received research attention.

Within this group is a sub-group who do not know their fathers. This presentation is based on four studies conducted by the presenter and her colleagues in an attempt to better understand this phenomenon. The studies were based in the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the Northern Cape provinces.
