Bid Description: Appointment of a service provider to undertake renovations to existing buildings and additional office space through modular prefabricated units for the HSRC Sweetwaters

- Introduction:
The HSRC is looking for a suitable service provider to renovated existing office space (conventional brick and mortar buildings) and additional space through modular prefabricated units to accommodate the Sweetwaters Office, Edendale, Pietermaritzburg, for approximately 120 staff members.
The HSRC was established in 1968 as South Africa’s statutory research agency and has grown to become the largest dedicated research institute in the social sciences and humanities on the African continent, doing cutting-edge public research in areas that are crucial to development.
Our mandate is to inform the effective formulation and monitoring of government policy; to evaluate policy implementation; to stimulate public debate through the effective dissemination of research-based data and fact-based research results; to foster research collaboration; and to help build research capacity and infrastructure for the human sciences.
- Evaluation Criteria:
Preference Points System: 80/20 (Price: 80 and B-BBEE: 20).
NB: The minimum threshold on functionality is 70 points to qualify for further evaluation stages.
- Access to Bid Documents:
Bid documents will be free of charge and available on the HSRC website (www.hsrc.ac.za). Bid documents must be deposited into the HSRC Tender Box at HSRC building, 134 Pretorius Street, Pretoria.
NB: The HSRC shares the building with the Department of Social Development. Bidders are requested to ensure that their proposals are deposited into the correct tender box.
