Sisonke Mtyapi is a Senior Researcher at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), under the Equitable Education and Economies (EEE) division within the Dynamics of Agro-food Systems and Innovations (DASI) team. She joined HSRC on October 1st, 2022, contributing her extensive expertise and experience to her role. Prior to her position at HSRC, Sisonke worked as a research assistant at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) within the School of Business and Finance department. Her responsibilities involved supporting research initiatives, data analysis, and contributing to academic projects. She holds a Master's degree in Economics with a specialization in Development Economics, Econometrics, Mathematical Economics, and Labor Economics from the University of the Western Cape. This academic background has equipped her with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and a profound comprehension of economic principles within the realm of development. Sisonke's expertise and experience suggest a focus on economic research, quantitative analysis, and an understanding of how economic principles intersect with development contexts, particularly within the fields of agro-food systems.
