Dr Mzi Nduna is the Divisional Executive of the Research Impact Division at the HSRC. Nduna has 29 years of work experience, 17 of which were spent in the University sector. She is the former Dean of Health Sciences at the University of Fort Hare and a former Head of School at WITS University. Among others, Nduna started and led the
Net 10 and FACT research groups, consisting of researchers from the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) and universities who conduct research in the fields of Father (dis)connections and sexual and gender identity expressions (LGBTIQ). Nduna has also consulted on climate justice and gender, decolonial feminist approaches to health and development, gender mainstreaming, sexual harassment, gender political economy analysis (GPEA), and has conducted several end-term evaluations (ETE). Nduna's research output includes 69 peer-reviewed journal articles, 3 books, 4 special issue journals, 8 book chapters, and several research reports. On Google Scholar, Nduna has 7499 citations and an H-index of 32.
Mzi Nduna is an honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for the Study of the Afterlife of Violence and the Reparative Quest (AVReQ), University of Stellenbosch and a regular guest lecturer for various institutes and universities. Nduna has extensive leadership experience as a non-executive director/board member and technical advisor for various organisations in the education and health fields.
