Mr Meketsi Tsotetsi
Meketsi Tsotetsi is a PhD Research Trainee at the Africa Institute of South Africa (AISA), within the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC). He is currently pursuing a PhD in Political Studies at North-West University (NWU), where his research focuses on international relations, global governance, and the selective application of international norms, particularly the Responsibility to Protect (R2P). His work engages critically with questions of power, intervention, and the role of the Global South in shaping contemporary global order.
He holds a Masterâs degree in Political Studies and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, recognising his academic excellence. In addition to his academic training, he has completed certifications in Cyber Threat Management, enhancing his expertise in emerging security domains at the intersection of technology, governance, and risk.
His research interests include international security, foreign policy analysis, human rights, and political risk, with a strong regional focus on Africa in comparative global perspective. He contributes to academic and policy discourse through research, conference participation, and analytical engagements aimed at bridging theory and practice in addressing complex global challenges.
