Mr Adlai Davids
Senior Research Manager
Adlai Davids is a Senior Research Manager in the Public Health, Societies and Belonging (PHSB) research programme at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC). He holds an MSc in Geo-information Systems (GIS) from the Faculty of ITC, University of Twente, The Netherlands. Prior to joining the HSRC, he lectured in Human Geography and GIS at the University of the North (now the University of Limpopo) and the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela University).
His research interests focus on tuberculosis (TB) treatment adherence interventions, the social determinants of TB, and the application of GIS in public health, education, and broader social contexts. He has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and client reports, and has presented his work at both local and international conferences. In addition, he has published book reviews and supported a wide range of collaborative research projects.
Adlai has a strong commitment to research ethics. He has served on the HSRC Research Ethics Committee (REC) as well as the REC (Human Subjects) of Nelson Mandela University. He also plays a key role in scholarly publishing as the Journal Manager of SAHARA-J: Journal of the Social Aspects of HIV/AIDS.
