Mr Adlai Davids
Senior Research Manager
Public Health, Societies and Belonging

Adlai Davids is Senior Research Manager in the Social Aspects of Public Health (SAPH) research programme. He holds an MSc in Geo-information Systems from the Faculty of ITC, University of Twente, The Netherlands. Before joining the HSRC in October 2002, he was a lecturer in Human Geography and GIS at both the former University of the North and University of Port Elizabeth. His research interests are TB treatment adherence interventions and social determinants of TB, as well as Geographical Information Systems (GIS) applications in public health, education and other social issues. He has also supported research into a diversity of other topics published as journal articles, book chapters and client reports. He has also done a myriad of conference presentations and published book reviews. Adlai has a keen interest in research ethics, served on the HSRC Research Ethics Committee (REC) and currently serves as an external member on the REC (Human Subjects) of Nelson Mandela University. He also serves on the editorial committee of SAHARA-J: Journal of the Social Aspects of HIV/AIDS as editorial assistant.1.< /p>
