Evidently, the conflict is not new and cannot be attributed to the scenes of 15 April 2023, as it is a culmination of a long history of complex dynamics, misunderstandings, and mismanagement. Violating international human rights and humanitarian laws, with women and girls subjected to conflict-related sexual violence. Without going deep into records of the Sudanese modern political history, this policy brief underscores the urgent need for the resolution of the conflict in Sudan, and the failures of transitional governments to guarantee stability from established agreements and continental proclamations on conflict such as the AUâ??s Post Conflict Reconstruction and Development (PCRD) policy. The brief is thus based on the ongoing conflict in Sudanâ??s several failed attempts to usher transition through a ceasefire agreement to be discussed below.
