The aim of this study is to evaluate whether the pilot intervention (It Starts Today) contributes to changes in attitudes, behaviours and practices related to underage drinking. The current report presents the findings of the baseline data that were collected with school-going youth only. We first describe the fieldwork processes along with the data analysis methodology. The evaluation uses a mixed methods pretest/post-test design. With assessment measures repeated over time (at baseline before the start of the intervention, and at endline after completion of the intervention), we aim to describe patterns of behaviour change to identify shifting behaviours, attitudes and intentions in high school learners. The baseline results are then presented: the demographic characteristics of the sample are described and descriptive statistics of the results are discussed. The report concludes with a summary of the key findings and an overview of the next phases of the research.
