SABC News hosted experts to discuss the current state of South Africa’s basic education. They were Dr Andrea Juan, a research specialist at the HSRC, Elijah Mhlanga, the chief director of media liaison at the Department of Basic Education, and Professor Nadine Petersen, executive dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Johannesburg.
