The Democracy Governance and Service Delivery research programme has launched the longitudinal study, South African Social Attitudes Survey (SASAS). This is a survey on opinion among the South African population covering topics on a wide range of social matters such as communications, politics, education, unemployment, and the problems of the aged and inter-group relations.

The Democracy Governance and Service Delivery (DGSD) research programme has launched the longitudinal study, South African Social Attitudes Survey (SASAS).

This is a survey on opinion amongst the South African population covering topics on a wide range of social matters such as communications, politics, education, unemployment, and the problems of the aged and inter-group relations.

A total 10 500 individuals in the country have been selected to participate.

The HSRC’s mandate is to inform the effective formulation and monitoring of government policy; to evaluate policy implementation; to stimulate public debate through the effective dissemination of research-based data and fact-based research results; to foster research collaboration; and to help build research capacity and infrastructure for the human sciences.
