This training webinar will introduce attendees to DroughtStats software and cover themes that include computing empirical (non-parametric) & probabilistic (parametric) drought indices, drought characterisation using theory of runs, analysing drought dependencies and practical demonstration in DroughtStats.    

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to: 

•            Prepare and load hydrometeorological data into DroughtStats.  

•            Compute empirical and probabilistic drought indices.  

•            Characterise drought events using drought duration, severity, intensity and recovery   metrics.  

•            Analyse dependencies among drought-related variables.  

•            Generate outputs suitable for drought monitoring, research and decision-making.
