The Health Sciences Research Office at the University of the Witwatersrand invites you to the third Prestigious Research Lecture:

 ‘Mandela’s Children: Securing the health and wellbeing of future generations’.

  • Environmental determinants of development: what and how important are they? 
  • What do we know about the world with which our children must engage? 
  • How do they cope? 
  • What can we do to help them? 

Speakers: Professors Steve Tollman and Kathleen Kahn (MRC/Wits Rural Public Health and Health Transitions Research Unit – Agincourt) and Professors John Pettifor and Shane Norris (MRC/Wits Mineral Metabolism Research Unit/Birth to Twenty Programme).

Commentator: Professor Haroon Saloojee, Head of the Division of Community Paediatrics at Wits Faculty of Health Sciences.
