This year the HSRC is commemorating its 50th anniversary and the 90th anniversary of its predecessor, the National Bureau of Educational and Social Research (NBESR) through archival work, research, publications, public lectures, a social science conference and collaborative events. The commemorations are being officially launched together with the launch of the HSRC’s flagship new book in its State of the Nation series: Poverty and Inequality.
