The HSRC invites you to join us for the launch of the next edition of our Voices of Liberation series. Legal scholar, Pan-African intellectual, liberation movement leader, and the first Black doctor of law in southern África, Dr Edson Sithole envisioned a liberated Africa when liberation seemed impossible.

Sithole built movements when organising meant risking everything. He wrote with clarity and courage when silence meant survival. In 1975, the Rhodesian regime made him disappear, but they could not erase his ideas. They kidnapped him to silence his ideas, but 50 years later, his words speak louder than ever.
