Join the Human Sciences Research Council on 28 April for the launch of Biko’s Edge: Reimagining Black Critique, followed by a discussion on the enduring influence of Steve Biko.

Professor Tendayi Sithole will critically engage with Biko’s radical ideas on power and resistance, providing new insights into contemporary struggles in South Africa, including issues related to land ownership, media control, shared resources, and controversies surrounding the historical record. Sithole is a professor in the Department of Political Sciences at the University of South Africa and the recipient of the 2025 Nicolás Cristóbal Guillén Batista Outstanding Achievement Award from the Caribbean Philosophical Association
