Community of Practice: Community of Practice: Ocean Accounts Framework

The project on Charting Gender Tides: Exploring Gender Dynamics within Ocean Accounting Frameworks within the Community of Practice on Ocean Accounting integrates a gender lens into ocean accounting frameworks, with a focus on the often under-recognised roles and contributions of women in ocean economies. The project documents the economic, social, and cultural impact of women, striving to create more inclusive and equitable ocean governance strategies that align with SDG Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and Goal 14 (Life below Water). The project includes the launch of the OAF Gender Expert Survey, which gathers insights from a diverse group of experts to inform inclusive ocean governance practices. Collaboration with the University of New South Wales and participation in the Global Ocean Accounting Partnership’s Social Accounting Working Group further strengthens the global effort to incorporate gender-sensitive approaches into ocean development, advancing the agenda for sustainable and gender-inclusive ocean governance.
